and I just realized that my comment had nothing to do with the post. I guess its sad that black women aren’t getting married up, but whats the rush. Its better to wait forever for the right one then to settle for a nigga in the way.

One issue most often cited by black men when discussing relationships with black women is that black women tend to be a bit “opinionated.” Now, before you all jump on me, I’m not saying all black women fit into a certain category or that it is undesirable for a black women to be strong. I am saying that each of us, man and women, need to know how to let each other be just that in a relationship. Each of us need to be committed, understanding, and a little less selfish. Finally, as a black man in his late forties, one of the most important things for me to get from a black women are empathy–understanding when I’ve made mistake, soothing words when I’m afraid, nonjudgmental advice when I need help with a decision, and praise when I‘ve done good.
