OUR President is a black man!!
The president of the United States of America, is a black man!!!!
How powerful is that!
I sat here with tears in my eyes and immense joy and pride in my heart and couldn’t give a hoot who saw. I was proud. I AM PROUD.
Throughout the entire inauguration, my mind wandered onto my father and brothers and all the men, black men, in my life and I felt…. at peace. I was hopeful and happy and thrilled that in some strange way their existence seemed to have been validated by Obama’s feat; as odd as that sounds.
Today I shall celebrate and send out good vibes and synergy and love who I am, what I stand for and where I intend on going from this moment on. I’m sure we could get into all the pitfalls of the “spotlight” but at this moment in history, right now, I just want to be still.
